The Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care Unit offers a place that is a source of comfort and care. Here you will find compassion filled medical attention, a place for family conversations and privacy. You will find room for prayer and visitation, support, and counsel. You’ll find room for living.
The Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care Unit is located in the Perry Hospital with a warm, home-like setting, that provides 24-hour nursing care during the last stages of life. Operated by Heart of Georgia Hospice, The Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care Unit is designed to help individuals and family members needing end-of-life care when the level of assistance is not available at home. Patients who are experiencing a crisis in their illness come for management of their symptoms and support for their families. We are also able to provide limited respite care for caregivers.
This peaceful inpatient facility features six beautifully decorated patient suites with private bath facilities, meal service, a 24-hour family kitchen, a family area equipped with TV, and internet access. Family members may spend the night if they choose. Pets are welcomed at designated times. A peaceful chapel welcomes all faiths for gentle reflection and prayer.
At The Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care Unit and Heart of Georgia Hospice, we believe that death is a natural part of life; that no one should die alone or in pain; and that the unique needs at the end of life should be met with professional attention and compassionate care.
Our plan of care includes the patient and family in treatment decisions, and maintains that dignity and independence are as important as physical comfort. The Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care Unit meets the patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, while supporting the family during the illness and for at least one year afterwards.
